Day 1: Canada - Tel Aviv (Israel)
Flight with a good itinerary.
Day 2: Tel Aviv
Upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, you will meet our representative and you will be transferred to your hotel in Tel Aviv.
Day 3: Tel Aviv - Sea of Galilee - Tiberias
Breakfast. Departure from your hotel for a guided tour. We drive for a short visit to the city of Jaffa (Joppa) where we will take a short walking tour in picturesque alleys of the old, fortified town. We will pass by the house of Simon the Tanner and marvel at the views from the hilltop. We drive north along the coastal road - Via Maris, to the archaeological ruins of Caesarea, built by Herod the Great in honor of Augustus Caesar. From here we go on to visit Megiddo where the book of Revelations mentions a great battle at a place called "Armageddon", an ancient city inhabited continuously for more than five millennia (6000-500 B.C.). After exploring the ancient ruins, we drive toward the Sea of Galilee, stopping at Cana to visit the Wedding Church where Jesus performed his first miracle, turning water into wine. Arrive at Tiberias and check-in to your hotel. (Breakfast)
Day 4: Sea of Galilee
Breakfast. Visit the sites on the north shore of the Sea of Galilee, the stage for many events in Jesus’ life. Drive along the shore of the sea to Capernaum, known as ‘His Town’, the center of Jesus ministry where he spent much time healing the sick and performing miracles. On to Tabgha, the site of Christ’s miracle of feeding the 5,000 and the Church of Multiplication, where the mosaic floor depicts a basket with loaves and two fishes, and the Church of Primacy of St-Peter, commemorating Jesus’ reinstatement of Peter as chief among the Apostles. Continue to the Mount of Beatitudes overlooking the sea, where Jesus preached the “Sermon on the Mount” and it is believed that he picked his 12 apostles. Ascend to the Golan Heights to view the panoramic view of the peaks of Mt. Hermon, the rugged plateau of the Golan Heights, and beneath it the green pastoral Hula Valley. Visit Banias (Caesarea Philippi), one of the sources of the River Jordan, where Jesus took his disciples, revealing his purpose and His Church before his last trip to Jerusalem and where Simon identified Jesus as the messiah. Drive to the southern part of the Sea of Galilee to visit the Yardenit Baptismal Site. Return to Tiberias for another night in town. (Breakfast)
Day 5: Nazareth - Jordan Valley - Beit Alpha - Jerusalem
Breakfast. Sail on the Sea of Galilee to experience the tranquility and scenery that has hardly changed during the past 2000 years (Approx. 15$USD, subject to weather conditions).
This morning we travel through the Galilee to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his childhood, and the Church of Annunciation, built on the site where archaeologists believe the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary. You will also see Mary’s Well and Joseph’s Church. Visit the ancient synagogue at Beit Alpha, located at the foot of the northern slopes of the Gilboa Mountains which has one of the most preserved and beautiful mosaics in Israel.
Drive through the Jordan Valley, passing by Jericho, before ascending through the Judean Mountains to Jerusalem. Overnight at your hotel in Jerusalem. (Breakfast)
Day 6: Masada & Dead Sea
Breakfast. Through the remarkable scenery of the Dead Sea, we continue to Masada which is situated on an isolated cliff in the Judean Desert. The site was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. Ascend by cable car to the fortress, which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. Visit the excavations, King Herod’s palace, the synagogue, bathhouse and much more. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Roman camps and the Dead Sea below.
Visit the site of the Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Nearly 1,300 feet below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth’s surface. Bring your swimsuit as if weather permits it’s possible to “float” on the salty mineral-rich, water. Return to Jerusalem for an overnight. (Breakfast)
Day 7: Jerusalem
Breakfast. Start the day at the Israel Museum’s Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea scrolls, then a visit to the beautifully renovated Model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem, dating back to the time of the Second Temple. Enjoy Ein Karem; a picturesque village in the southwestern outskirts of Jerusalem. This small village has great significance in Christian traditions since this is where according to tradition John the Baptist was born. Visit Yad Vashem the official memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust, established in 1953, located at the foot of Mt. Hertzl. Visit Bethlehem - the birthplace of Jesus at the Church of the Nativity and Manger Square. Return to your Jerusalem hotel. (Breakfast)
Day 8: Jerusalem
Breakfast. Enter the Old City of Jerusalem where you will see the Western Wall and the actual site of the Second Temple, the Temple Mount. Walk the Way of the Cross, the Via Dolorosa, to Calvary and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, housing both the traditional site of Crucifixion and the Tomb of the Resurrection. To the southwest, just outside the Old City, is Mount Zion, with the traditional tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper. Visit the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus spent his last night and was betrayed by Judas. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of Jerusalem - the holy city for each of the world’s three great religions – Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, from atop the Mount of Olives. Return to your hotel for overnight. (Breakfast)
Day 9: Jerusalem (Israel) - Allenby Bridge - Amman (Jordan)
Breakfast. You will be transferred to Allenby Bridge Border where you will be met by our representative on the Jordanian side to help you through formalities. Proceed to Amman for overnight. (Breakfast-Dinner)
Day 10: Amman - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Shobak Castle - Petra
Breakfast. Pick up from your hotel in Amman, head to visit Madaba, a city best known for the famous 6th century Mosaic map of Jerusalem & Holy Land and for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. Proceed to Mt. Nebo, a city mentioned in the Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land that he would never enter.
Drive by Shobak Castle, known to the crusaders as Mont Real (Krak de Montreal), built-in 1115 by King Baldwin 1st of Jerusalem. The impressive castle stands as a lonely reminder of former Crusader glory. Arrival to Petra, transfer to your hotel. (Breakfast-Dinner)
Day 11: Full day Petra
Breakfast. Departure for a full day in the Nabatean Red Rose city of Petra with a local English-speaking guide for 4 hours. Petra is one of the 7 world wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enter the city through a 1KM long narrow gorge which is flanked either side by 80m high cliffs! Notice the dazzling colors and formations of the rocks. The site is massive and contains hundreds of elaborate rock-cut tombs, a treasury, Roman-style theatres, temples, sacrificial altars, and colonnaded streets. In the afternoon, time on your own to explore Petra. Return to your hotel. (Breakfast-Dinner)
Day 12: Petra - Little Petra - Wadi Rum - Dead Sea
Breakfast. Visit Little Petra, a Unesco world heritage site famous for its ancient buildings sculpted out of solid red sandstone. The place where Nabateans used to entertain their guests. It was one of the main commercial areas of Petra, the entry and exit point for the trade routes to the north and north-west.
Head to explore Wadi Rum on a 2 hours jeep ride into the Jordanian desert! Wadi Rum was best described by T.E. Lawrence (aka Lawrence of Arabia) as “Vast, echoing and god-like”, and by the locals as “Valley of the Moon”. Transfer to your hotel at the Dead Sea. (Breakfast-Dinner)
Day 13: Dead Sea - Jerash - Amman
Breakfast. Departure to Jerash for a 2-hour visit to the ancient Roman city with a local English-speaking guide. Walk the paved and colonnaded streets, and take note of the soaring hilltop temples, theatres, spacious public squares, plazas, baths, fountains and city walls.
After the visit, you will be transferred to Amman for a 2-hour (approx.) tour of the capital city of Jordan. Your visit includes sites and museums such as the Archeological Museum, the Folklore Museum, The Citadel, the blue mosque, and the Amphitheatre. Transfer to your hotel in Amman. (Breakfast-Dinner)
Day 14: Amman (Jordan) - Cairo (Egypt)
Breakfast. Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for departure flight to Cairo.
Arrival at Cairo airport. Greeting and transfer to the hotel. (Breakfast-Dinner)
Day 15: Cairo - Luxor (Sleeping train)
Breakfast at the hotel. Start a full-day tour of the Pyramids (entrance optional), the Sphinx and the Egyptian Museum. This tour also includes lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer to the train station to go toward Luxor. Overnight on board in a first-class cabin. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)
Day 16: Luxor (Beginning of the Nile cruise)
Breakfast on board the train. Upon arrival to Luxor, transfer to the port to embark on the Carnival Nile cruise ship (Or similar cruise). Visit Luxor and Karnak Temples. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)
Day 17: Luxor - Edfu
Breakfast on board. Visit the West bank of the Nile, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Deir El Bahari, the Memnon Colossus and the Valley of the Kings. Navigation to Edfu. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)
Day 18: Edfu - Kom Ombo - Aswan
Breakfast on board. Visit Temple of Horus then continue to Kom Ombo and visit Sobek Temple. Navigation to Aswan. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)
Day 19: Aswan
Breakfast on board. Optional tour to Abu Simbel. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)
Abu Simbel optional tour + $185 / person:
Breakfast. Early morning, transfer from Aswan to Abu Simbel to visit its magnificent Temples considered to be one of the most impressive sites in Egypt. Here you will visit the two temples built by Ramses II as a high-architect before he became a Pharaoh. The 100-foot-high Great Temple is world-famous, which features 4 statues of Ramses II and his wife Queen Nefertari, each 65 foot high. Next to the Great Temple is the temple dedicated to Queen Nefertari. Both temples were originally carved in a mountain. In 1965 they were moved 600 feet and raised 65 feet, thanks to an international project to save them from the flooding caused by the construction of the High Dam. Return to Aswan.
Day 20: Aswan - Luxor
Breakfast on board. Disembarkation from the cruise. Visit of the Aswan High Dam, the unfinished Obelisk and the Philae temple. Transfer from Aswan to Luxor. Overnight at your hotel in Luxor. (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner)
Day 21: Luxor - Makadi (Hurghada)
Breakfast. You will be transferred to your hotel in Makadi (Hurghada). Check-in and relax in the comfortable facilities of the all-inclusive Prima Life Makadi Hotel (or similar). (Breakfast-Dinner)
Days 22 & 23: Makadi (Hurghada)
